Vessel Tracking System Melds GPS, Cellular and Internet
Created to keep track of a fleet of day charter fishing boats, The Locator provides a new system for vessel tracking and systems monitors and control. Utilizing GPS, the Internet and Cellular Digital Packet Data (a wireless communication technology), the user controls predesignated on-board equipment via a regular computer.
The Locator also tracks an equipped vessel's location, speed and direction on proprietary charts. The system can be programmed to alert a yacht's owner regardless of location in the event of malfunction or other abnormal conditions. Although hard wired to the ship's electrical system, it has its own backup battery. Four inputs allow various monitoring functions and four outputs control equipment such as engine shutdown or air conditioner activation. The Locator comes with a 30-day refund policy.
